Annual Open Night   

     

On Friday 4th July we will be holding our Annual Open Night here at Westbourne from 7.00pm-9.00pm and you are all most welcome to join us. If you’ve not been before, the programme includes items from each of our four sections followed by presentations of awards to each boy in front of the whole company. Needless to say we expect every boy to attend in full uniform.  

          

Our five major awards will also be presented and these are:    

    

The Pineapple Award: Presented to the boy who has made the most of his first year in the Junior Section.

The Junior Section Uniform Trophy: Presented to the Junior boy who has gained the most uniform points in 2007/2008.

The Company/Senior Uniform Trophy: Presented to the Company or Senior boy who has gained the most uniform points in 2007/2008.

The Junior Section Boy of the Year: Presented to the all-round top Junior of 2007/2008.

The Company/Senior Section Boy of the Year: Presented to the all-round top Company or Senior boy of 2007/08.   

        

Refreshments will be served after our presentations when you can also take a look at a display of work including photos and collect your Photo CD of Junior Camp if you’ve ordered one. (See below for reminder).     

       

This is a special night for us and through the presentations of awards we are recognising not only the achievements of the boys but also their loyalty to ‘the 8th’, the commitment of all the staff and your support as parents. Please find attached your personal invitation – we do hope you can join us.     

    

Junior Camp Photos – reminder from last week      

       

You can now order your own photo CD with approximately 200 images on it so that you can make your own pictures either at home or by using ‘one of those machines’ in the supermarkets. To cover our costs (CD’s & print materials at camp) we’re charging £2.50 for the CD which will be available for collection at our Open Night on 4th July. To order your copy, please complete the slip below with full payment. Thanks.

Junior Camp Photos  

           

Last week we said we would be making photos of camp available to you very soon. For those of you who have access to the internet, there are a good number now on the ‘Scrapbook’ page of our website www.the8th.co.uk. Some of these would look great printed and framed in your homes but as you’d expect we prevent copies being made direct from our site.      

      

What we can do is provide you with your own photo CD with approximately 200 images on it so that you can make your own pictures either at home or by using ‘one of those machines’ in the supermarkets. Broomley Family Day      

         

Having heard just how much some of you have been impressed with Broomley, we thought you might like to make your own visit this summer?

   

At the moment we’re planning a family day-out on Saturday 23rd August with the following outline programme:   

         

Morning:           Car Treasure Hunt on the way to Broomley.     

Lunch:               Picnic Lunch at Broomley (you would provide your own)    

Afternoon:         Organised activities for whole family including climbing wall, zip-wire, face-painting, relays, adventure playground, tree-climb, low or high hopes course, night-line, burn-side walks and tour of Broomley etc.     

Tea:                 Evening barbecue before departure at your own time.      

        

Obviously we need an idea of numbers before can confirm full details and the cost for this, but we plan to only charge for the activity provision and for the barbecue – which is always excellent. If you’re interested, please complete the second slip below. Thanks.
